The Kingdom of Wildantor

A Journal Deciphered

Benjamin finished caring for his horse in Oleg’s stable, and made his way towards his companions who were just setting the long table for another meal; or to be honest, given Svetlana’s cooking – a feast. Benjamin pulled a small book out of his pocket as he joined the group, and sat down beside his good friend, the Professor Adamantine. Shaking hands with the Prof. Benjamin said, “Old friend, I’m glad to see you on your feet and feeling better. The rest of us will feel much better with you at our side again.”

The Professor smiled warmly, and returned the handshake. “Being bedridden while you lot go off adventuring has been frustrating, you may be sure. But don’t be mistaken either. My time hasn’t been spent in vane. During my recovery, I’ve been able to practice my craft, and have improved somewhat myself.”

Benjamin grinned wide, “Take no offense my friend, I never doubted your skills. In-fact, I have something for you…” Passing the small leather-bound book to the Professor, he continued. “On one of our last trips out, we befriended a small tribe of ”/wikis/Sootscale%20Kobolds/new" class=“create-wiki-page-link”>kobolds by helping them against their tribe’s enemies, and more importantly by helping them overthrow an evil shaman who had taken over the tribe. After we killed the shaman, we searched his quarters and found that book. The problem is, none of us could read it…..I think I remember you saying that you could read Gnome didn’t you?"

Professor Adamantine looked slightly affronted that Benjamin would question his knowledge, but chose not to press the issue. Instead he opened the book and began to read…

A Charter of Exploration

Exploration should be limited to an area no further than thirty-six miles east and west and sixty miles south of Oleg’s Trading Post. The carrier of this charter should also strive against banditry and other unlawful behavior to be encountered. The punishment for unrepentant banditry remains, as always, execution by sword or rope. So witnessed on this 24th day of Calistril, under watchful eye of the Lordship of Restov and authority granted by Lord Noleski Surtova, current Regent of the Dragonscale Throne.
